The 2022 Owari Yokosuka Festival will be held with reduced contents, and limited to invited guests only.

Honor and Prestige Are at Stake in a Competition of Superb Float Controlling Skills

This event is held on the fourth Saturday and Sunday in September, to coincide with a regular festival at Atago Shrine. There are four festival teams (Daimon, Kotsu, Kitamachi and Hommachi), and five floats are pulled around town.
At the "Donden" event location each float faces the shrine, and after offerings of festival music and karakuri puppet performances have been made, there comes the biggest highlight of all, when the teams put their honor and prestige on the line in a competition involving the marvelous feat called "Dai Donden," in which they turn their floats around without lowering them or letting them bump into each other.
