Prayers for a prosperity in everything important

The Honen Festival prays for a bountiful cereal harvest, national security, and industrial growth. It is regarded as the festival which announces the onset of the spring season in the Owari region, and events are numerous: parades by elaborately decorated parade floats, Japanese taiko drum performances, mochi rice cake giveaways, and more.
Plum trees too come into bloom at the same time, making for some of the best flower viewing in the area.
