A Temple With a Tale To Tell, Takisan-ji Temple & Takisan Toshogu Shrine

The Takisan-ji Temple and Toshogu Shrine are historical and cultural treasures of northern Okazaki. The temple, dating back to the late 7th century, was constructed on the orders of the Emperor Tenmu (Reigned 673 to 686). The original temple was a center of worship for hundreds of years until the Nara Period.
